The KAMTCHATKA, THE BEARS LAND
kamempreintes.jpg

Guillaume, this expedition to the Kamtchatka was marked by the meeting with bears.
Can you explain here your passion ?

This article is illustrated by bears pictures that Guillaume has taken there.

To answer your question about my passion of bears, you have to know that since my two first expeditions which opened my eyes about the situation of the population of brown bears in Kamtchatka and also in Alaska and North America, I have myself asked how to act to save them, and communicate for this wild animal.

I decided to make the public aware with the film. I also organize stays to go with clients to observe bears.

The bear is not a predator for mankind. On the opposite, mankind is a true predator for bears and if in the future, the bear had the chance to live a bear life in its natural environment, it would be because men would have taken time to defend it for the interest of the future generations and also for the interest of wild life.

I need to share this passion I had since my childhood and moreover since my first meeting with this beautiful land, because I would like the Russians to be aware that bears have more financial value if they protect them and keep them alive than to leave them to the poachers who want their bile and fur.

I would prefer seeing "eco-tourism" nature taking a more important place wishing that the russian administration would leave one place to the durable environment.

An alive bear can attract photographers, film makers and people interested in fauna and making the economy improve.

Today, after four years, I am happy to learn that the Kamtchatka government understood these ideas and developed a policy of preservation of environment.

Mankind must change once impact and is able of the best.

It's a new challenge we have to react. Give us this chance for bears, for the Earth and for us !
