Art began in prehistoric time.

Let's remind our cavebear appearing 150.000 years ago. It was painted by prehistoric men on cave walls.

The technics used by these artists already expresses a perfect mastery of stroke, material and support.

For painting, the two pigments used are red ochre and black charcoal.Paintings of bears were discovered in a lot of caves dating from prehistory.

You can see in this picture the one of "Pech-Merle"cave, in Quercy.

MY FAVOURITE PAINTINGS ARE FROM CATHERINE VASSEUR and they can be seen in Honfleur:

I was walking in the wonderful little town of Honfleur in Normandy, when I discovered those paintings in a decoration shop "Agora".

I liked her work very much and I got in touch with her and I am writing this page with her agreement to make her work be known.

She is an artist from Paris. She exhibits her paintings in Honfleur and Paris shops. You can observe in her paintings the Teddy bear's delicate details.

We have the impression that we can extract the teddies from the frames and touch their soft fur.
